This aromatic, savory green tea grown in the Chiran region of Kagoshima Prefecture has a bold taste. It’s both fresh and mellow, with very little astringency. It makes a fantastic palette cleanser for even the strongest flavors, good for pairing with any food.

This tea surprised me! At first sip, I immediately clocked this as a simple black tea replica, but once the aftertaste sets in, I could detect a green tea base. Slightly bitter, this tea would best suit a cold, early morning alongside a savory meal. To be honest, I wouldn’t recommend this to those looking for a new green tea to try – because the green tea taste here is incredibly subtle – but if you’re a fan of black tea then maybe this blend will surprise you! Though I don’t think I’ll repurchase this, I’m happy to have tried it.
