Review: Arabels Naturals’ Turmeric Honey Glow Mask

This Turmeric and Honey Mask is made with Raw Unrefined Honey. This Mask is made with raw Unfiltered Unheated Honey and Wild Turmeric.

Arabels Naturals

At a pricey $40, Arabels Naturals’ Tumeric Honey Glow Mask boasts of providing a unique exfoliating glow using unfiltered, simple ingredients (and thankfully a preservative to keep things sanitary and safe over time, though I’d still argue it’s best not to push it and use it up as soon as you can). I was delighted to receive this mask for Christmas, and have been using it since. Though the container itself is small, only a little bit of the liquid inside is necessary to cover the whole face. Thick and bright, this yellow-orange substance is quick to stick on skin and may require a bit of tugging in order to adequately spread across the face (though this is NOT a clay/hardening mask. This liquid is just very thick and grainy). Similarly, once the mask needs to be washed off, you may find yourself hunched over the sink for a few minutes to appropriately rinse out the mask. At the end though, your face should be fresh and bright, rather than irritated, with extended use showing pleasant results.

Ingredient Pros and Cons

Ingredients: Organic Food Grade Turmeric Powder, Organic Raw Honey ( Unfiltered), Organic Brown Sugar, Vitamin E, Organic Jojoba Oil,  Organic Mango Butter, Organic Aloe Vera Gel, Carrot Extract, Stearic Acid, Emulsifying wax, Turmeric Essential Oil.

Significant Pros

  • Organic Food Grade Turmeric Powder (brightening)
  • Organic Brown Sugar (exfoliating)
  • Organic Raw Honey (anti-acne, soothing)
  • Vitamin E (moisturizing)
  • Organic Jojoba Oil (moisturizing)
  • Organic Aloe Vera Gel (soothing, moisturizing)

Significant Cons

  • Just a pain to spread on, lol

The Takeaway

While I enjoyed the results and ingredients of this mask, I can’t get over how irritating it is to apply and remove. Personally, I worry that the constant tugging on the skin may do more harm than good over time. Add in the high cost, and it’s unlikely I will be repurchasing. Ultimately, whether or not this product may work for you will be determined by your skin needs and budget.
