Velvet Cleansing Milk is a moisturizing, non-foaming cleanser that gently removes makeup, dirt and grime without damaging your skin’s natural barrier. Harsh foaming cleansers can strip away your skin’s natural oils, leaving your skin feeling tight and dry. Velvet Cleansing Milk is a creamy cleanser that utilizes a water-soluble form of olive oil to gently bond to grime on your face and rinse it cleanly away.
– Stratia Skin
New brand review! I’ve been looking forward to trying some Stratia products and today I’ll be starting with their cleanser. This is a simple cleansing milk with a gentle, goopy texture that spreads easily across the skin. Overall, application and use is a simple, pleasant experience, with the product sticking to the skin easily and washing off without an issue. Two pumps are more than enough for one wash, so I expect the container to last a few months, which seems appropriate for its $16 cost.

Ingredient Pros and Cons
Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Olive Oil PEG-7 Esters, Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Oil, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Polyacrylamide, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Laureth-7, Ceteareth-20, Matricaria Recutita (Chamomile) Flower Extract, Allantoin, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Disodium EDTA, Propylene Glycol, Potassium Sorbate, Diazolidinyl Urea, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate
Significant Pros
- Olive Oil PEG-7 Esters (moisturizing, but is especially helpful in dissolving makeup and sunscreen)
- Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides (moisturizing)
- Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Oil (skin polishing)
- Glycerin (moisturizing)
Significant Cons
- C13-14 Isoparaffin (can be skin clogging, but it’s in a cleanser, so I wouldn’t worry about it)
- Glyceryl Stearate/Potassium Sorbate (potential fungal acne triggers)
The Takeaway
This is a solid cleanser for those with sensitive skin. The application is wonderful, the oils do well to cleanse the skin without drying it out, and the product’s pricing is reasonable, so I have no problem recommending it to others. I’ll probably still search and use other cleansers once I complete this bottle, but I don’t have any pressing complaints.
Would you say this a first or second cleanse? Does it lather?

I’d say to use this as a first step (oil cleanse) since the oils in the cleanser do well to remove makeup and sunscreen. Though the product doesn’t really lather, it is satisfying to see it spread and gather on the skin due to its thick consistency.
