Review: Naked Flamingo Tumeric & Kokum Butter PM Mask

The best way to get bright and vibrant skin would be with a bomb skincare routine of course! End your night with Our Turmeric and Kokum Butter Moisture Mask.

Naked Flamingo

I finally got a shipment from Naked Flamingo – a brand I’ve been ecstatic to try out! First of my reviews is their Turmeric & Kokum Butter Mask. Though the container itself is small, a little goes a long way, so don’t be concerned for usability. At about $15, it’s a good deal, especially in consideration of its stellar ingredient list and great reviews. The product is a bright yellow, quickly revealing its turmeric contents, the kokum butter giving off its natural scent (no fragrance in the ingredients though!). The cream is light and spreads easily across the skin. However, it does take a LONG time to dry – I usually give it 40 minutes – before going to bed. Even then, expect your pillow to have yellow stains – nothing you can’t wash out. As for the result – the product washes off relatively easy and I found my dry winter skin nourished and bright! Moreover, my acne-ic areas were not irritated and I noticed my skin was brighter and more even toned as well. If not for the mess, this would be a perfect product.

Ingredient Pros and Cons

Ingredients: Distilled Water, Vegan Collagen, Vitamins C + E, Panthenol, Allantoin, Citric Acid, Cetyl Alcohol, Jojoba Oil,  Grape Seed Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Kokum Butter, Turmeric, Coconut Milk,  Leuconostoc-Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Tetrasodium Glutamate Diacetate

Significant Pros

  • Vegan Collagen (improve skin health, moisture retention, and elasticity)
  • Vitamins C + E (brightening and moisturizing)
  • Panthenol (hydrating)
  • Allantoin (calming)
  • Jojoba Oil (moisturizing)
  • Grape Seed Oil (moisturizing)
  • Sweet Almond Oil (moisturizing)
  • Kokum Butter (moisturizing)
  • Turmeric (brightening)

Significant Cons

  • Citric Acid (skin sensitizing – but it’s combined with so many moisturizing ingredients, I wouldn’t worry about this at all)

The Takeaway

Despite the mess, I can’t help but recommend this product for its amazing ingredients, results, and price point. Also – it’s a black owned business. Wins all around. I’ll definitely be finishing this product and relishing in the results, but I don’t see myself repurchasing since all the yellow stains on my pillow (and sometimes even blankets) are becoming more and more annoying, haha. Oily or dry, sensitive or durable – this product is a choice for the winter months. Definitely check it out.
