– Mizon
I was on the hunt for a new moisturizer following my Biossance Squalane one, hoping to find something that kept my skin moisturized without activating my acne (or digging too deep into my wallet). I came across Mizon’s affordable Snail Cream on Yesstyle, but opted for their Black Snail Cream instead, believing it to be more effective for my oily skin. Now, after about a month of use, I’m happy to say that this cream has fulfilled all my hopes. With its easy and quick application and ability to moisturize my skin without irritating it (a feat considering its many ingredients), I’m definitely pleased with how this cream performed.

Significant Pros
- Snail Secretion Filtrate (skin-healing, moisturizing)
- Niacinamide  (acne and hyper pigmentation fighting)
- Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil (moisturizing)
- Butylene Glycol (moisturizing humectant)
Significant Cons
- Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate (may trigger fungal acne)
- Though there are many more moisturizing ingredients in here that some people may be sensitive to, since they are lower on the ingredients list, their concentration, in my opinion, isn’t something to overanalyze unless you have certain ingredient allergies/reactions.
The Takeaway
This is a great moisturizer for those who tend to have combo or oily skin – its mix of moisturizing ingredients with a high concentration of niacinamide make it effective at keeping skin clear and happy. For those with severe acne, especially fungal acne, this may not be the best option, as you may need a stronger anti-acne product. Still, if you want to get in the “snail” k-skincare craze, I’d recommend implementing their snail essence into your routine ($15 and, in my opinion, more effective than COSRX’s alternative) instead. In any case, definitely a brand to watch!
