Review: The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%

Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) is indicated to reduce the appearance of skin blemishes and congestion. A high 10% concentration of this vitamin is supported in the formula by zinc salt of pyrrolidone carboxylic acid to balance visible aspects of sebum activity.

The Ordinary

I integrated the Ordinary’s Niacinamide 10% and Zinc 1% serum into my routine around six or seven months ago, hoping it would alleviate acne brought on through environmental changes. Since then it’s been a staple, evening my skin tone and undoubtedly preventing a bevy of blemishes that would assuredly be there without its use. Moreover, its low price point has me a guaranteed continued customer.

Ingredient Pros and Cons

Ingredients:Aqua (Water), Niacinamide, Pentylene Glycol, Zinc PCA, Dimethyl Isosorbide, Tamarindus Indica Seed Gum, Xanthan gum, Isoceteth-20, Ethoxydiglycol, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin.

Significant Pros

  • Niacinamide (brightening, anti-acne, and moisturizing)
  • Zinc PCA (acne-fighting)
  • Tamarindus Indica Seed Gum (moisturizing)

Significant Cons

  • Nothing (yay)

The Takeaway

If you suffer from acne and hyper pigmentation, this serum is a must! Cost-effective, ingredient-focused, results-driven, and suitable for a variety of skin conditions (dry/normal/oily/sensitive/acne-prone), this mixture is definitely worth a try. Right now, I have my brother using it in his routine, and it’s provided magnificent results.
